"I get home usually around midnight, and I cook myself up a quick dinner. On tonight’s plate, we have beef broccoli and a brownie slice for dessert. "

This week, my high school friend Hikaru is staying over since her dorm doesn’t open until later. After a long day of school and work, we put on face masks and joked around. It’s always a good thing to put aside all your stress and spend time with the people you love.

Time to wash off the mask and prep for bed. Skin care isn’t the only form of self-care. De-stressing can come in many different ways. Do things that you know will lift some of the burdens off your shoulder, whether that’s hanging out with your friends, grabbing some boba, watching a good movie, heading to the gym, or dancing alone in your dorm room.
Before I go to bed, I work a little on homework or on my side hustles. Tonight, I’m checking off if there’s anything left to prepare for the upcoming semester for one of my side hustles: Asian Heritage Month at NYU.

We’re an executive board that conducts large and small scale events, bringing together various clubs and communities at our university to promote Asian-American culture throughout the school year. I’m on the marketing team, and I’m charge of promotional photos and videos. AHM has also given me the chance to speak on a panel about the coming of age this past semester.
